Цели урока:

— Тренировать в речи учащихся изученную лексику теме «Здоровый образ жизни» и грамматические структуры;

It is very important to go in for different kinds of sport, to eat proper food and do it regularly, not to smoke and so on if you want to be healthy. And today we’ll speak about health and healthy living guide.

T: We are sure that health is a very important thing for all people. Some people care about their health, others don’t.
T: What good / health habits do people have?
P1: People with good habits follow a well-balanced diet, eat wholemeal bread, high fibre food, low fat food, vegetables and fruit, which are rich in vitamins and minerals.
P2: People get up early, exercise every day, go in for sports, try to have regular rest.
P3: I think that it is necessary to take care of our health. People should take a shower, clean teeth twice a day, sleep 8 hours, cut out snacks. They shouldn’t smoke and drink alcohol.

T: We know that not all people follow a healthy living guide. They have bad habits. What are they?
P1: Two of them – obesity and physical inactivity are known from ancient times. Every person should go in for sports, because it helps us to stay in a good shape and to build character.
P2: I think that obesity is one of some problems nowdays. People must control yourselves in eating of course. They should count calories.
P3: As for me I don’t smoke. Smoking makes teeth yellow, skin unhealthy. It causes a cough, a headache, a cancer.
P4: Smoking is not useful for our health. If a person smokes a lot he or she will be ill. And smoking affects the people around you.
P5: drinking alcohol is not useful for our health too. It makes speech unclear. Drinking too much alcohol causes heart disease, brain disease.
P6: I think that taking drugs is very dangerous for people. It is harmful for teenagers and grown-ups.
P7: I suppose that it is bad for health sleeping too much or too little. Eating between meals and skipping breakfast, snacking regular lead to stomach disease.

These bad habits are really deadly.

T: We are sure that health is very important thing for all people. We should take care of our health. Today we’ll meet with some doctors. Let’s talk with a dietitian.
Dietitian: Hello! I’m a dietitian. I would like to discuss with you the problem of Healthy Eating. Many young people come to us because they complain of stomachaches, obesity, liveraches and others.
P1: I’m sorry. Can you tell us about a balanced diet, because I’m a bit overweight. And I’m afraid that obesity will be my problem.
Dietitian:
Don’t worry about it, please! It is important to have a balanced diet – in other words, food that contains something from each of the three main groups of food. These groups are protein, fat and carbohydrates.
You find protein in lots of food, for example, meat, chicken, beef, fish, nuts, beans, peas, eggs, cheese and milk. Proteins help you to grow and to be healthy.
Fat gives you energy but don’t eat a lot – it’s bad for you. There are a lot of fatty foods that come from animals, for example milk, butter, meat, cream, cheese.
Carbohydrates give you more than 70% of your energy. Bread, cereals, fruits and vegetables such as potatoes and cabbage all contain lots of carbohydrates.
Can you say that you follow a balanced diet? What do you eat?
P2: I think that I have good and bad habits in my eating. I have my breakfast in the morning before school, but I don’t always have my lunch in time. I like sweets and eat a lot of them. I prefer to eat fruits and vegetables every day. I eat less of everything.
P3: As for me I don’t eat red meat. I eat poultry. I cut out snacks and desserts. I don’t follow a diet. And I eat food rich in vitamins and minerals.
P4: My family and I are vegetarians. We don’t eat meat. We eat a lot of vegetables, fruits and nuts. Sometimes we eat a few eggs or a little cheese but we never eat any meat. I think that being a vegetarian is good for health.
P5: As for me I don’t care about what I eat. As for dieting I think it is very dangerous. I am what I am. It is impossible to change. Besides, I like chocolate bars, ice cream and the like. Why should I give up such tasty things? Never! Of course, I understand that it is very important to eat healthy food. I think that after our meeting I’ll eat less sweets.
Dietitian: Do you need different products? How are they good for you?
P6: I think that we need different foods to get all necessary substances for our health such as carbohydrates, protein, fat, fibre, vitamins and minerals. For example, fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins and minerals. They are very good for our health. We should use them as often as we can.
Dietitian: Fine, thank you!

P1: Yes, I’ve had. It was very awful! I had a headache. I couldn’t move my head and even speak and sleep.
Dentist: Yes, of course. A toothache is very terrible. Some people have yellow unhealthy teeth. How do you think why?
P2: They may smoke a lot. I think it is a bad habit. And smoking makes teeth yellow. Nicotin destroys healthy teeth. Smoking causes a cough, a headache and even a cancer, that’swhy I don’t smoke.
Dentist: Yes, you are right. How do you take care of your teeth?
P3: As for me I clean my teeth twice a day. I do it in the morning after breakfast and in the evening before going to bed.
P4: I eat more fruits, vegetables and milk products. And I visit a dentist twice a year. I think that we should use good toothpaste. Advice, please! What is the best toothpaste?
Dentist: Yes, of course. I advice you to use toothpaste with calcium and fluorine. I think that blend-a-med is the best toothpaste for us. Fluorine restores an enamel and protects our teeth.

P3: I do morning exercises but not every day. I am interested in swimming. I visit a swimming pool three times a week in the evening.
P4: Paying attention to health we have to go in for sports. It means that we must run and jump, play football and volleyball, basketball and tennis. In short we must be in some movement.

I, Salimova Aliya and Efimova Yana are crazy about basketball. We play in our school basketball team. Dyatlov Grisha and NazarenkoVitya are good runners. Nazarenko Zenya and Nurullin Andrey are interested in football. Rozkov Sergey is a good swimmer.
In my opinion every person should go in for sports because it helps people to be strong and healthy.

XII. Составление синквейна
Учитель объясняет, что такое синквейн и приводит примеры.
Синквейн – стихотворение, состоящее из пяти строк. Каждая строка имеет определенный смысл, причем это может быть как рифмованное, так и нерифмованное пятистишие.
